About Me

Hi! My Name is Morgan Carpenter- Massage Therapist, Doula, Yoga Teacher, and Mama behind Valley Prenatal. I live in Turlock with my daughter, fiancé, and stepson.

I have been fascinated with all things labor and birth since I had my daughter in 2014. I left my job slinging coffee in 2020 to pursue a career in Massage Therapy with a focus on Therapeutic Massage during Pregnancy. In September of 2022 I decided to pursue education to become a certified Doula.

I look forward to bringing together physical touch with informational and emotional support to help the families in this community experience educated and empowered births.

What is a Doula?

From the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves"

A Doula is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to mothers before, during and just after birth.

  • I can help keep you and your partner informed through each milestone of your pregnancy and postpartum journey. I can also help you find evidence-based information about different options in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. A Doula is an unbiased resource. NEVER a source.

  • A Doula is a continuous comforting presence offering reassurance and encouragement, showing a caring and empathetic attitude, and helping you and your partner work through fears and self-doubt about pregnancy and birth. Debriefing after birth is another way a Doula can support you emotionally.

  • During our prenatal massage appointments we will address physical discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy using massage. We will also address stretches and physical measures to take at home to alleviate pregnancy aches and pains.

    During Labor there is a variety of tools available to help alleviate pain:

    Massage/counter pressure

    Position changes and suggestions for optimal labour progression

    Create a calming environment 

    Water therapy (bath, shower)

    Hydrating and feeding birther

    Hands-on infant feeding support

    Anything you need to feel physically comfortable during your birth, a Doula can assist you with.

  • Morgan truly has a gift. She is so present and intuitive in her work as a doula and massage therapist that when I was in labor, I KNEW she had my back. She worked with my husband providing support in such a seamless manner. I felt incredibly cared for and supported in my 24 hour long labor! I have such tender memories of Morgan’s gentle care as I labored in the tub especially. I’ll never forget how comfortable she made me feel even in the discomfort of contractions. I had the privilege of Morgan’s prenatal massage therapy throughout my pregnancy to stave off sciatica, wonderful doula care during labor, and intentional check ins and postpartum care. What a difference it made in the quality of my entire birth experience! I’m grateful that Morgan was my doula and I would recommend her services to anyone and everyone I know.

  • Working with Morgan as my prenatal massage therapist and birth dula was an incredible experience. I saw her regularly for prenatal massages and she always made my aching body feel better than I could have hoped. When I went into labor, Morgan was there for me the whole time. She made sure I ate, slept, walked, and she helped my partner understand how he could help me throughout the process. I had a long labor and she tracked my progress and told me when it was time to go to the hospital. Morgan advocated for me at the hospital and was holding my hand as my daughter was born, encouraging me the whole time. Her support throughout my pregnancy and delivery was everything I could have hoped for and I will absolutely use her services again if I ever have another child.

  • Massage Doula $1400

    2-4 Birth Prep appointments in your home (to discuss preferences for birth, birth education, postpartum planning, and a variety of comfort measures), 24/7 Text availability from time of booking through the beginning of labor, continuous in-person support for the entirety of labor through the first hour postpartum, and one postpartum visit.

    +3 60-Minute Prenatal Massage Sessions

  • Premium Massage Doula $1850

    2-4 Birth Prep appointments in your home (to discuss preferences for birth, birth education, postpartum planning, and a variety of comfort measures), 24/7 Text availability from time of booking through the beginning of labor, continuous in-person support for the entirety of labor through the first hour postpartum, and one postpartum visit.

Our Services

  • Pregnancy adapted cushions and bolsters are used to deliver safe and therapeutic massage through all stages of pregnancy and the postpartum period. Pricing and availability available through the book now link. (Massage sessions available in office only)

  • Mother led doula services include prenatal visits, massage sessions, constant support during birth, and postpartum assistance.
